Lemon-Garlic Pan Seared Salmon

DSCN9643I’ve been on a serious salmon kick lately. Until recently, though, I had never cooked any type of seafood other than shrimp (that one time). It can be sort of intimidating. I am here to tell you to keep calm and cook the salmon. It is so much easier than it seems.

You’ll be impressing your friends with this flavorful and moist filet in no time. (Under 30 minutes, to be exact!)

You Will Need:

  • 1  1-lb. salmon filet
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced (approx. 2 tbsp)
  • Salt to taste

Directions:

  1. Heat a medium-sized non-stick skillet to medium-high and add the butter and olive oil.
  2. Sprinkle the salmon fillet with sea salt and place on the hot skillet, skin-side up. Cook for 4 to 6 minutes (depending on thickness of fish).
  3. carefully flip to the other side. Cook 3 minutes, add the garlic and lemon juice and cook another 2 to 3 minutes, until salmon is cooked through but still moist.
