I hate frying bacon. I hate it times a million. I’m always getting burned by the oil and it takes way too long to cook a large batch. Not to mention, it takes a lot of attention to cook bacon in a skillet and I’m typically busy cooking other things while making the bacon. Ugh! It’s just no fun. This is why I no longer fry bacon. There is an easy and quick alternative that comes out great every single time. Bacon in the oven!
You Will Need:
- 1 to 2 lbs of bacon
- Turn on the oven and preheat to 400F. Place a rack in the lower third of the oven.
- Line a baking sheet with foil. Lay the bacon on the baking sheet in a single layer. The bacon can be close together, but don’t let it overlap (we don’t want the bacon to stick together).
- Place the baking sheet of bacon in the oven and bake until the bacon is deep golden-brown and crispy, 15 to 20 minutes. Exact cooking times will differ according to how crispy you like your bacon and the overall thickness of the bacon.
- Remove the bacon from the oven and use tongs to transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain and finish crisping.
