Baked Bacon

bacon-in-ovenI hate frying bacon. I hate it times a million. I’m always getting burned by the oil and it takes way too long to cook a large batch. Not to mention, it takes a lot of attention to cook bacon in a skillet and I’m typically busy cooking other things while making the bacon. Ugh! It’s just no fun. This is why I no longer fry bacon. There is an easy and quick alternative that comes out great every single time. Bacon in the oven!

You Will Need:

  • 1 to 2 lbs of bacon


  1. Turn on the oven and preheat to 400F. Place a rack in the lower third of the oven.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil. Lay the bacon on the baking sheet in a single layer. The bacon can be close together, but don’t let it overlap (we don’t want the bacon to stick together).
  3. Place the baking sheet of bacon in the oven and bake until the bacon is deep golden-brown and crispy, 15 to 20 minutes. Exact cooking times will differ according to how crispy you like your bacon and the overall thickness of the bacon.
  4. Remove the bacon from the oven and use tongs to transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain and finish crisping.
  5. Enjoy!
